Thomas J. Winstel, C.E.M.

President

Thomas J. Winstel is the current President and Chief Operating Officer of Engineering Excellence, which under his leadership has been recognized nationally as the US EPA’s – “Energy Star Small Business of the Year” for 2010. Engineering Excellence Energy and Environmental LLC energy advisory business unit currently ranks 39th in the United States in Energy Star benchmarking. Its performance contracting group was recognized by Contracting Businesses as its “Commercial Contractor of The Year” for 2005, and ACCA’s 2006 “Commercial Excellence” award.

Mr. Winstel has twenty-three (23) years of key executive development skills for Program Design and Implementation of HVAC service, maintenance, and retrofit projects.

Mr. Winstel’s credentials include:

• Standing Committee Member of ASHRAE 180P National Maintenance & Tasking Standards.

• Nationally recognized for development of National Account Solutions for Facility HVAC Maintenance Tasking and Program Implementation. Outsourcing solutions and creative program design for commercial and industrial outsourcing of energy and facility optimization and maintenance.

• C.E.M. Certification from Association of Energy Engineers (A.E.E.), demonstrating extensive knowledge of HVAC, lighting and building systems, and the conservation measures necessary for efficient operation.

• HVAC Design Study, Carrier Corporation:  Extensive multi-week HVAC Commercial Design course work.

• Field Experience:  Four years of Installation and Service Technician Commercial HVAC.

James T. Manning, P.E., LEED AP

Vice President

Jim Manning is the Vice President of Energy & Environmental Services, LLC for the Cincinnati, Dayton, and Columbus offices.  His responsibilities include leading the marketing, sales and design teams for our Energy & Environmental Services group, leading the marketing and sales teams of Design Build and Intelligent Building Services business segments.

Mr. Manning has thirty-three (33) years of experience in the construction business with an extensive background in Mechanical/Electrical Design Build Construction, Building Automation, and DDC Control Systems, Lighting systems, Energy Management and Performance Contracting.  He has a proven track record with leadership and coordination of the building integrated design process with particular focus on development of high performance buildings through the facilitation of the Facility Performance Audit process that Jim has spent his career developing.

Mr. Manning’s credentials include:

Rick Evans

Executive Vice President

Rick Evans is responsible for the day-to-day operations of our National Accounts Business Group, including staffing, process control, and service provider development.  His background in utilities, supply side management and generation give our energy services an added depth of knowledge.  He oversees new equipment start-ups and related services for HVAC equipment manufacturers such as Lennox Industries.  Rick also leads our Marketing and Sales efforts to grow the National Accounts Business.

Ann Moran, C.E.M

Vice President

Ann Moran received her Bachelor of Science in Physics with a French Minor from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio.  As a Quality Engineer and a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) she provides quality systems support to the planning group for Engineering Excellence, Inc.  Ann analyzes the selected processes and systems to provide data to ensure projects comply with Engineering Excellence’s TQM standards.  She provides consultation to successful National Retailers struggling with minimizing costs while assuring comfort and who are frustrated with lack of communication and validated timely feedback.  Her core specialties include customization of HVAC maintenance programs with application of time studies to manage the mix of total costs associated between the balance of PM, repair, energy and construction.  She is an advisor to Cincinnati State University’s Electrical-Mechanical department and provided curriculum for their 2 year HVAC degree program.  Prior to her history at Engineering Excellence, Ann was Director of Supplier Certification Program and a Quality Control Engineer with Lincoln Electric.

Jenny Hirsh

CFO

Jenny Hirsh is the Chief Financial Officer of the Engineering Excellence companies.  In addition to her financial responsibilities, she is responsible for managing our Human Resource and IT departments.  Jenny has over 14 years of experience with Engineering Excellence.  Jenny received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Kentucky.  She is a Certified Public Accountant, with additional experience in the manufacturing and public accounting sectors.  She has also been an active member of Vistage for 10+ years, which educates and promotes best business practices.  Jenny works with the energy services team to determine eligibility and financial payback on government rebates and incentives.  Working with our incentive manger and the customer’s financial team, Jenny has reviewed the financial planning for our larger projects to determine project feasibility.

Adam Pulskamp

Energy Engineer

Adam Pulskamp is the Energy Engineer for the Cincinnati, Dayton, and Columbus regional offices as well as our National Accounts division.  His responsibilities include the marketing and sales teams of the Energy business segments, project tracking and coordination of resources as well as managing day-to-day operations for the Energy and Environmental Department.

Mr. Pulskamp is a recent graduate from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.  During his time at the university he conducted audits for some of Cincinnati’s most well known arts facilities including The Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal, The Aronoff Center for the Arts, Playhouse in the Park and The Cincinnati Art Museum.

Paul Metts

Energy Solutions Consultant

Paul has nearly 30 years of experience in building management systems, HVAC equipment, lighting and electrical systems. He began his career in electrical/lighting, HVAC and mechanical control systems as an independent contractor. Following a successful 25 year career in contracting, he pursued a sales/management career that included providing solution sets within the construction, service, and energy sectors. Most recently, he focused on business development related to the K-12 Schools and healthcare markets.   Paul’s diversified background allows him to provide a consultative approach in aiding clients in design build construction, building maintenance and energy efficiency.
